SONGWRITER/FOLKSINGER ANNOUNCES CANDICACY FOR 2008 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION.

Mineola, Texas resident songwriter and folksinger, Randy Brown, will meet with supporters and fans at a performance of the Wildwood Coffeehouse series in Tyler, Texas, on 11-10-2007, to announce his candidacy for the U.S. Presidency. The Wildwood Coffeehouse Concert Series is a listener-oriented, smoke-free, alcohol-free, and drug-free environment in which to see and hear some of the best folk entertainers around. It is located at 1629 Old Omen Rd in Tyler. The doors open a 7:00pm and the music starts at 7:30pm. The admission price is $10.00.

As an independent candidate, Randy Brown states, “I have no serious hope of winning, but instead intend to exercise my right to seek election as a fully qualified citizen of this country simply for the experience itself. I will join no party. I promise to say what I think when I think it and reserve the right to be wrong and to change my opinion upon my whim. I will accept no money and will not endorse any candidate other than myself. I promise to give honest and direct answers to questions about my stands on various issues. I will not spin or sound-byte. I reserve to the right be wrong, silly, politically incorrect, profane and disrespectful whenever and about whatever or whomever I choose. I will pander to no group or organization no matter how right, rich or self-righteous they may be. I promise to keep my sense of humor at all times. But also reserve the right to become outraged and to rant and rail against other candidates, elected officials, their policies and our political situation in general. This does not make me un-American or unpatriotic; this simply makes me a citizen exercising my constitutional rights. Finally, I promise to have a good time doing it.”

Brown's political fliers encapsulate his position: "How hard can it be?”

Brown is a performing songwriter. His new CD, “Dream Big” deals with issues such as quantum mechanics (he’s for it), homelessness (against it), the unstoppable nature of time (would at least like to slow it down), out of body experiences (had one once)  and testosterone poisoning (been there done that!).
